Alex Moore is a senior at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where he is studying Jazz and African American Music. Originally from Chelmsford, MA, Alex has been playing trumpet for 11 years. Alex has dedicated time to studying classical trumpet under Steve Emery, Eric Berlin, and Steve Felix, as well as jazz trumpet under Jeff Holmes and Haneet Nelson. During his time at UMass, Alex has participated in the UMass Symphony Band, the Wind Ensemble, and the Jazz Ensemble groups. Some notable musical influences are; Randy Brecker, Chet Baker, Freddie Hubbard, and Woody Shaw, among others.
Alex has a twin brother, who is also a musician, and a younger brother who is an engineering student. As a teacher, Alex strives to inspire his students to love music, and uses their passion to set them up for success!
