Eric Bowers is originally from Austin, Texas, and recently moved to the pioneer valley with his family. Eric is currently studying Computer Science and Music at Holyoke Community College. Prior to moving north, Eric was a student piano teacher at Dolce Music School in Georgetown, Texas, and spent time doing data processing as an intern at GSI Environmental Inc. Eric began playing piano as a 5-year-old student, and later picked up percussion through his middle school’s band. As an adult, Eric continues his love of creativity through art, music, and video, and his passions are an asset to our Gerry’s team!
Within the Store, Eric supports our sales staff by helping customers, cleaning instrument returns and repairs, and assisting with inventory and warehouse tasks. Eric particularly enjoys getting to meet musicians from all walks of life, and revels in the excitement of helping people along their musical journeys. Eric’s favorite department is the Drummer’s Den, and especially enjoys our wall of cymbals!
Eric’s most embarrassing musical moment was his first drum solo in 7th grade jazz band. “I just started hitting anything, losing all sense of structure and groove. The director stopped the whole rehearsal because it threw everyone off”.
