Jim Provost

Store Owner

Jim was raised in South Hadley, MA under the watchful eyes of his parents, Norm and Ann, and each of his four older siblings. He graduated from South Hadley High School in 1987 and went on to graduate with a Political Science BA from Stonehill College in Easton, MA. Following his college graduation Jim worked as an administrative assistant for a State Representative in the Massachusetts State House. In April of 1992, Jim began working at Gerry’s Music Shop. It was because of this job, and his excellent coffee brewing skills, that he won the heart of his wife Amanda Provost. Currently, Jim is living in South Hadley, MA with his wife of twenty years and his four amazing children.

When Jim first returned to Gerry’s in the spring of ’92, he served as the Sales and Educational Representative servicing over 40 school districts throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut. As the current Store Manager, Jim oversees the daily operations of the store and provides sales assistance to the inside sales staff and customers. In addition to ensuring that the employees are well equipped to take good care of all customers, Jim enjoys spending time in the repair shop fixing up some of the band instruments.
