Norm and Ann Provost
Norm began his relationship with Gerry’s Music Shop as a clarinet student at the age of 12. In the summer of 1957, Norm was hired by the owner, Gerry Lamothe, as a part time clerk. Norm’s part-time job quickly transformed into a full-time love of music. His passion for music and his innate business sense propelled him and Ann to purchase Gerry’s in 1974.
Working as a team, Norm and Ann dedicated themselves to supporting music throughout Western Massachusetts and the surrounding areas. Together, they worked to expand the services the store offered and are currently the largest instrumental school music dealer in the Pioneer Valley, offering lessons to over 300 students per week, and the region’s most complete repair department and knowledgeable staff. Ann has been instrumental in developing many of processes that keep our rental programs family friendly and option orientated.
Norm and Ann currently reside in South Hadley, MA where they have developed a wonderful life together. As an avid golfer, Norm enjoys playing many of the local golf courses, and Ann enjoys reading and spending time with family. They as individuals, as business owners, and as a couple, are role models for each of their five children and eleven grandchildren. Their youngest son, Jim, currently serves as the store manager.
